Wichita Habitat for Humanity partners with families residing in Sedgwick County who are interested in improving their lives through home ownership and can afford to pay around $400 a month for 20 years.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
- Wichita Habitat for Humanity (WHFH) is looking for applicants with a NEED FOR HOUSING that are unable to obtain conventional financing due to limited income or credit challenges.
- Applicants should have a steady income that is sufficient to REPAY THE 20-YEAR, 0% INTEREST MORTGAGE and monthly living expenses.

- Applicants should be WILLING TO PARTNER with us. This includes working between 250-400 hours of “sweat equity”, attending homeownership classes and saving money to cover their closing costs.

Eligible Income
Wichita Habitat for Humanity accepts all sources of legal, steady, documentable income that will continue for a period of no less than 36 months. This includes (but is not limited to) Wages, Child Support, Food Stamps, SSI, Disability, Social Security. Income from all members of the household should be reported even if person is not a co-applicant.
